BANNER RENEWAL
Hello, and thank you for your support of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #1009’s Military Tribute Banner program. We are proud to use this fundraiser to support local Veterans and Active Service organizations including Yorktown’s American Legion Post #1009.
As a reminder, we request a $50 annual donation to re-hang your tribute banner for display between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The banner is yours - if you prefer not to renew we will not re-hang it and we will make it available for you to bring home.
We ask that you let us know your intention before May 1. While it is our intention to have banners hung by Memorial Day, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE that will be the case. We rely upon town volunteers to hang the banners and other town business might take priority.
Please note that we have nearly 100 banners expected to fly this year, so we cannot offer a specific location. Banners are hung in Yorktown Heights and in Shrub Oak - we can accommodate requests for one location or the other, just not a specific pole or part of town.
Finally, these banners are exposed to the elements and after a time might become faded, torn or frayed and not suitable for hanging. If this happens to your banner we will offer you the option to purchase a new banner at our cost - we just ask that you continue to keep current on renewals.
